abstract = "One of the important features of autonomous vehicles
is their versatility to various traffic situations and
road conditions. We explore the feasibility of using
genetic programming to develop an adequate
auto-steering of a car in slippery road conditions. We
also investigate an important emergent property of the
best-evolved steering solutions - the steering
oscillations - and discuss how these oscillations
contribute to the better controllability of the sliding
car. We present the limitations and the technical
challenges of the real world implementation of steering
oscillations.",
