abstract = "The paper gives guidelines for a systematic marketing
approach for promoting computational intelligence in
industry. The proposed research marketing strategy
includes three key steps. The first step identifies the
target market (industry, government, or academia). The
second step defines and protects the product. The third
step implements the promotional strategy by publishing,
conference presentations, and technical and business
advertising. Different mechanisms of marketing
computational intelligence through interactions between
academia and industry, such as protecting intellectual
property, publishing, conference advertising,
technology development, and interactions with vendors
are discussed. Specific directions for targeting
technical and nontechnical audience are given as
well.",
