The authors agree that linear genetic programming has been employed in the study, though the description of genetic programming given in Sivapragasam et al. (2008) is basically of tree-based genetic programming. Since the primary purpose of the study was to illustrate that GP can evolve physically meaningful mathematical models which can form atleast a support for the already existing traditional models (which in many cases do not give deeper insight into the physics of the process), the authors preferred to use Discipulus directly, and did not differentiate between the types of GP.
However, the comment is very valuable as use of the other potentials of Discipulus might have resulted in getting more information on the modelling process.",
