abstract = "Types have been introduced to Genetic Programming (GP)
by researchers with different motivation. We present
the concept of types in GP and introduce a particular
implementation of typed GP, polymorphism, that can
enhance GP applicability to problems that are very
difficult for standard GP to solve. Through the
analysis of a series of experimental results, we
demonstrate that the combination of polymorphism and GP
evolutionary search has enabled two polymorphic
programs to be generated.",
