abstract = "In this paper we present the GP-Music System, an
interactive system which allows users to evolve short
musical sequences using interactive genetic
programming. We also present an extension which uses a
neural network to model a users preferences, then
stands in for them during the evolutionary process. The
use of this `automated fitness rater' allows the system
to operate both with and without user interaction.",
