abstract = "The paper presents an application of genetic
programming (GP) to an evolution of behaviour of agents
situated in virtual environment. While synthetic
characters are currently widely used in games, films,
and various other applications, popular techniques such
as keyframing and motion capture are still relatively
expensive. True automation of the animation process of
secondary characters might be a solution to this
problem. In the paper an approach is presented, in
which automatically generated decision trees mange
behavior of virtual humans. New mutation operator,
which removes unused nodes from decision trees is
described.",
