abstract = "More and more mobile devices equipped with global
positioning system (GPS) are helpful in tour
navigation. However, such consumer-grade GPS receivers
usually have low accuracy in positioning and require
position correction algorithms. In this paper, we
proposed an evolutionary computation based technique to
correct a GPS receiver with another GPS receiver and a
known reference point. The proposed technique can be
implemented without changing any hardware. It generates
a correction function from given NMEA (national Marine
Electronics Association) information. Using such
function to derive correct position information could
be efficient. Experiments are conducted to demonstrate
performance of the proposed technique. Positioning
error could be reduced from in the order of 10 m to in
the order of 1 m.",
