The research involved using both GAs and GP to build new forms of spatial models which predict the flows of products and services, population, etc between spatial areas. GAs were also used to calibrate existing spatial interaction models. The GP was implemented on the 512-processor T3D facility in Edinburgh (Scotland) using a MPI shell
